Google's blogging service is compatible with numerous offline applications that allow you to create and publish the articles when you go online. The most important of them, Windows Live Writer for Windows and MarsEdit for Macintosh, were recently updated and improved with the latest features bundled into the blogging service. Windows Live Write is powered by the software giant Microsoft, one of the biggest Google rivals that is competing with the Mountain View company in numerous domains. However, the Blogger team is promoting the downloadable application provided by Microsoft, describing it as the perfect blogging solution for the Windows operating systems.

"The Windows Live Writer team has released Beta 2 of their software, which adds labels support along with the proverbial host of other features. Developer and friend of Blogger Joe Cheng covers the highlights and lowlights on his blog, and you can grab the beta for Windows Vista and XP over at the download page," the Blogger team said today.

As usual, you can download the latest version of Windows Live Writer straight from Softpedia using this link.

In addition, you can use the MarsEdit software solution for Mac, a similar tool that allows you to edit posts and organize your articles from offline mode and publish them when an Internet connection is discovered. MarsEdit can be also downloaded from Softpedia as a 30 days demo.

Blogger wasn't promoted too often by the Mountain View company but, once in a while, Google introduces new features and interoperabilities with other solutions owned by it. Still, the blogging solution remains the most popular service in its category as it owns the largest community of bloggers on the Internet with a considerable number of pages. However, the battle seems to include two big rivals, Blogger and WordPress that are both targeting the same category of users.
