The new browser is available in this leaked build

As we reported to you just a few hours ago, Windows 10 build 10147 got leaked, and although Microsoft promised only few improvements until RTM arrives, it turns out that there are a lot of goodies in this new release.

Microsoft Edge is one of the most important additions in build 10147, and users who install it should notice that Project Spartan is no longer available, which means that Microsoft completed the rebranding process of its browser.

Edge is now pinned to the taskbar, and to the Start menu and is the default browser in Windows 10 build 10147, but the same change is very likely to be part of the next official release too (remember that, since this is a leaked build, you’re not recommended to install it, but we already know that most of you will).

Dark theme for the browser

Windows 10 comes with a dark theme on the desktop for a fresh and modern look, and starting with this particular build, Edge browser gets one too.

A dark theme for Microsoft Edge was already available in the previously released builds, but a small registry tweak was needed to enable it. But in 10147, the dark theme can be easily activated from the settings menu, which allows you to toggle between dark and light with just one click.

What’s more, the new dark theme seems to be more polished and good looking, so it could be set as the default option for those who install Windows 10. Obviously, many could change before RTM.

Windows 10 is projected to launch on July 29, but until then, expect several other preview builds to be released to insiders. The focus is now on fixing bugs and improving performance, so expect fewer such tweaks to be part of the upcoming releases.
