Marc Roussel’s new position with Microsoft EMEA involves fueling the growth of Cloud adoption in the region. Roussel has been appointed vice president, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Services, a role which he will take on ahead of the end of January 2011.

The new VP will oversee for the operational execution of Enterprise Services. In his role, Roussel will cover both Premier Support and Microsoft Consulting Services across EMEA.

“I am very excited to take on this new challenge and to continue to build the Microsoft Services business at the EMEA level,” Roussel said.

“My main focus now is driving the transformation to the cloud and reinforcing Microsoft Services’ role, while forming new strategies to enable further growth. I strongly believe that the talent of our teams, our experience and capabilities combined with our leading technologies will make the difference to make Microsoft the business leader in the market.”

Prior to being named VP of Microsoft EMEA Services, Roussel acted as director of Services for Microsoft France.

As vice president, he will now be responsible of no less than 60 sales locations spread across the six subregions of EMEA.

“Marc has delivered inspirational leadership, managerial excellence and a great competitive spirit. He and his team have helped Microsoft France win significant opportunities and then implement and support them successfully during his three years with Microsoft so far, making him an excellent fit for this EMEA-wide role,” added Kathleen Hogan, corporate vice president of Microsoft Services.

“With Microsoft Services focused on helping customers realize their potential by reducing costs and expanding innovation with our solutions, we are confident that Marc’s appointment will be a key driver of impact and customer satisfaction in the region.”

Before coming to Microsoft, Roussel worked for IBM Global Services as well as at Canon France and Computer Associates.
