The upcoming iteration of Microsoft’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution tailored specifically to for midsize businesses will be offered in the second quarter of 2011 on select markets around the world.

Microsoft Dynamics SL 2011 will be initially available only in English, to midsize organizations in United States, Canada, the Caribbean and Puerto Rico.

However, this will be just the first wave of availability which is currently set for Q2 2011. In addition, the software giant will also provide a Spanish localized variant of Dynamics SL 2011 to customers in Latin America, with the release deadline for this specific version yet to be made public.

The promise from Microsoft is that Dynamics SL 2011 fits into its overall dynamic business vision, and that it will help customers drive productivity and performance up.

“Microsoft Dynamics SL 2011 will drive significant value for midsize, project-driven businesses with its ease of use and ability to extend connections across the entire business ecosystem,” noted Crispin Read, general manager, Microsoft Dynamics ERP Product Management Group.

“The new level of innovation we’re providing with the release of Microsoft Dynamics SL 2011 will help customers make more informed decisions with speed.”

Microsoft Dynamics SL 2011 will feature some enhancements, including a RoleTailored user experience businesses.

The Redmond company has opted for the Office UI and role-specific dashboards for the ERP solution, in order to make it as easy as possible for users to run the product.

In addition, new features also include Quick Query. By leveraging Quick Query, customers will be able to take advantage of over 50 predesigned search options.

The software giant hopes that with features such as Quick Query, users will be able to get to the information they’re looking for faster.

At the same time, customers that are already running additional Microsoft technologies, will be able to seamlessly integrate Dynamics SL 2011 into their infrastructure.

Microsoft Dynamics SL 2011 has been designed to play nice with Project Server 2010, SharePoint 2010, Office 2010, SQL Server 2008 R2 and Dynamics CRM through Web Services.
