The two companies have inked a Memorandum of Understanding

LG Uplus Corp. (LG U+) will bring customers in South Korea Microsoft Cloud Services, per a new agreement inked by the two companies. The duo penned a memorandum of understanding designed to enable LG U+ to offer Microsoft Online Services to its South Korea subscribers. According to the two companies, the new offerings from LG U+ will be tailored to small and midsize enterprises and consumers that are looking to take advantage of enterprise-class solutions and rich user experiences. The new Cloud solutions will be integrated into the LD U+ Smart Workplace offering, the Redmond company explained.

“We are very excited to be working with LG U+ to bring the convenience and flexibility of cloud services to its end users. We envision a partnership that will help South Korean businesses improve productivity and boost their competitiveness while delivering integrated services across the PC, TV and mobile phone to consumers,” noted Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer. “The cloud represents a remarkable opportunity for Microsoft and our partners such as LG U+ where together we can connect users to their favorite people, places and things in more seamless ways than ever before.”

However, Microsoft and LG U+ will work together to include additional Cloud services into the South Korean company’s offerings. In the future, customers will be able to benefit from software as a service, platform as a service and infrastructure as a service solutions. Microsoft emphasized that the new offerings will be made available not just across the PC, but also via mobile phones and TVs.

“We hope that our strategic alliance with Microsoft will result in our customers being able to access information and services with any device,” said Sang Chul Lee, vice chairman of LG U+. “LG U+ continuously enhances its offerings to ensure that our customers have the best digital services. We believe the combination of Microsoft’s innovative technologies and LG U+’s resources will accelerate the adoption of cloud services, bringing consumers more convenient services and fresh user experiences.”
