Microsoft confirmed last month that Windows 10 will be available this summer in 190 countries and 111 languages, but the company also stated that the mobile version of the OS won't be ready until fall.

Today, Microsoft announced more details on the Windows 10 versions that will be launched this year. Yep, it looks like there will be more than one version of Windows 10 Mobile available for consumers.

According to Microsoft, the standard Windows 10 Mobile edition will be “designed to deliver the best user experience on smaller, mobile, touch-centric devices like smartphones and small tablets.”

Windows 10 Mobile comes with similar universal Windows apps that are also included in Windows 10 Home, which will be released this summer, but also the new touch-optimized version of Office.

This version of Windows for smartphones and tablets is aimed at customers who use their personal devices at work. In addition to all the features mentioned, Windows 10 Mobile will also enable some new devices to take advantage of Continuum for phone.

This means that users who own smartphones embedded with Continuum required hardware will be able to use them like a PC when connected to a larger screen.

Both versions will be launched after Windows 10 for PC

The second Windows operating system for mobiles announced by Microsoft is called Windows 10 Mobile Enterprise. This platform is “designed to deliver the best customer experience to business customers on smartphones and small tablets.”

According to Microsoft, Windows 10 Mobile Enterprise will be available to its Volume Licensing customers, and it will offer improved productivity, security and mobile device management capabilities.

In addition to what the standard version of Windows 10 Mobile has to offer, the Enterprise edition will add “flexible ways for businesses to manage updates.”

Last but not least, Windows 10 Mobile Enterprise will also include the latest security and innovation features as soon as Microsoft releases them.

Microsoft also confirmed that Windows 10 Mobile Enterprise version would be available for devices like ATMs, retail point of sale, handheld terminals and industrial robotics.
