Microsoft announced over the weekend that it will begin Dev Center account migration for app developers sometime this week. The Redmond-based company also confirmed that, with the migration, there would be new options available in Dev Center for Windows Phone developers.

One of the new functionalities available for migrated accounts will provide Windows Phone developers with access to additional features.

For example, developers will be able to submit Windows Phone apps and games through a single submission flow. They will no longer need to submit apps to two separate dashboards to publish to phone, tablet and PC.

Additionally, developers will be able to view and manage their linked apps as a single app with multiple packages. Basically, previously linked apps will now be managed as a single app with packages for each operating system each app targets, including Windows Phone 7, Windows Phone 8 and Windows Phone 8.1.

Windows Phone devs can now set a publish date for their apps

Last but not least, developers will be able to set a publish date for their apps. Setting the date and time release for an app or IAP to be published in the future is a new feature for Windows Phone platform.

But that's not all, as Microsoft announced a few improvements regarding the app monetization aspect in Dev Center dashboard.

One of them will allow Windows Phone developers to publish their apps and games to 242 markets, which is a consistent increase from 191 markets.

Keep in mind that there are also some features that won't be available anymore in the new Dev Center. For example, the emails that developers have been receiving to inform them when their Windows Phone apps are being promoted in the Store will cease on June 8.
