While gearing up for the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference 2009, the Redmond-based company has made public the list of finalists and winners for the 2009 Microsoft Partner of the Year Awards.

WPC is scheduled to take place July 13-16 in New Orleans, and will be focused on the software giant's business strategy and vision in the context of the global economic crisis. The event will also serve as the stage where it plans to celebrate a critical aspect of its success worldwide: partner companies.

“Partners are the key to igniting business innovation through great technology as well as helping customers drive down costs,” revealed Allison L. Watson, corporate vice president of the Worldwide Partner Group at Microsoft. “Congratulations to the 2009 Partner Award winners, who have demonstrated a superior level of expertise as well as a focus on delivering customer value. We look forward to seeing these partners fulfill their limitless potential as they continue to provide customers with world-class Microsoft solutions.”

An exhaustive list of the 2009 Microsoft Partner of the Year Awards finalists and winners has been published and is available here. At the bottom of this article, you will be able to find two embedded videos, one featuring Watson, and the other, Stephen Elop, President, Microsoft Business Division. Both will participate at WPC09 where they will also be joined by Microsoft Chief Executive Officer Steve Ballmer and Kevin Turner, Chief Operating Officer.

“Where are we right now? What's going on in the world? I assume each of you has an impression of what you see is going on. You want to hear a little bit from our perspective. We're seeing a pretty significant interest from customers in talking a lot more about can I keep cost down?” Watson said.
