Fake accounts blocked by Spring Update

With rumors on hacked Xbox Live accounts and stolen points, Microsoft started an investigation. Nobody's been caught until now, but just to prevent anything like this from even happening again, the company has strengthened Xbox 360 Marketplace Territory Controls, through the Spring Update, as GameScore Blog posts. It seems that more and more "fake" users have tried to access restricted content, thus something had to be done.

The site says that "if you have an account that matches the country where you are located, then you will probably notice little to no difference. However, if you have set up an account that does not match the country where you are located, you will find that these new security measures will only allow you to purchase and download content that is licensed in the country where you are located."

It's simple really: if you're not a US resident, but have a US Xbox Live account, you won't be able to download stuff only available in the US. What puzzles me is something else though. Who is so addicted to American TV shows that they have to create a fake account in order to download them? More than that, if it's TV shows we're talking here, who even hacks a console to get TV shows from across the globe? What is this a new trend or something?

Anyway, just for you to know, Microsoft's reinforced both console and console services forever so that every customer is satisfied, or that they don't get calls at 2 am, of reported stolen XBLA accounts.
