Yet Microsoft's representative didn't say anything about some good Vista drivers for the 8800GTX

Microsoft's director of Games for Windows, Rich Wickham, had a good talk with CVG and told them that Microsoft is serious about their plans for Games for Windows. Not only are they going ahead with it, even though Valve hangs a big question mark over the whole deal, but Microsoft is also seeing this as a "long term investment." Microsoft's director of Games for Windows, Rich Wickham, stated:

"I think we may have to prove - because we're Microsoft - our intentions over time, and that's exactly what we're going to do with Games for Windows. We're going to continue to invest in retail, we're going to continue to invest in the Games for Windows brand, we're going to continue to make sure that great titles come out on this platform and that you see... We're absolutely going to commit to what we're doing on Live."

How on Earth is Microsoft going to make this all happen when Vista can't even run FPSs decently? And I'm not talking only about Halo 2 Vista, you know. The thing is that owners of 8800GTX video cards have reported numerous mishaps when trying to run FPSs and not only. Some say that they have no problem with it but don't specify what Mario game they play exactly. It's the 8800's drivers. Microsoft just didn't get them right for Vista.

GAMES FOR WINDOWS! Wow, the ground shakes when you say it. The bottom line is that Rich Wickham sees Microsoft's Games for Windows as "a long-term investment," for which the company won't spend "tens of millions of dollars at retail," and it aims at "building a Live service that's going to go forward." The company's goal isn't to go through "a six-month cycle." OK then, we believe that. Now let's see those drivers that gamers actually need to play your Games for Windows.
