Mobile phone users in India looking to purchase a new dual-SIM smartphone in their country will soon be able to buy a so-called Micromax Canvas Duet 2, which will provide them with support for both GSM and CDMA networks.

No official announcement on this device has been provided as of now, but the phone has reportedly leaked online, and it should be formally introduced in the near future.

In fact, an allegedly leaked photo with the smartphone has made it online courtesy of micromaxcanvas.co.in, which also claims to have specific details on the handset’s hardware specifications.

The phone’s name can be clearly seen in the aforementioned photo, which depicts its retail box, though a Canvas Duet hasn’t been launched as of now.

On the other hand, as the news site notes, Micromax might launch it as the successor of Micromax Canvas Blaze, which was released with similar dual-SIM GSM+CDMA capabilities.

However, unlike the older device, the new one would support all CDMA networks out there, and not only the MTS one.

In addition to this functionality, the upcoming smartphone will have to offer some pretty decent mid-range capabilities to its users, starting with a 5.2-inch IPS touchscreen display that can deliver a 720p resolution.

The device is reportedly powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, paired with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory.

Micromax Canvas Duet 2 should also arrive on shelves with a microSD memory card slot packed inside, a 2300mAh battery, and GPS receiver. On the back, the handset is said to feature an 8-megapixel camera with LED flash, paired with a 2MP front camera for making video calls.

Micromax is said to launch the new smartphone with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean loaded on top right from the start, and to have it priced at around Rs. 19,999 ($321/€236). Hopefully, specifics on this will emerge soon, so stay tuned to learn the news.
