14 DAY TRIAL // The Unite 2 is already a huge success in India, but Micromax doesn’t seem to want to stop here and has recently released a new Android smartphone in the same series, the A092.
We have already reported on the Micromax Unite A092 earlier this month, though the Indian company has never introduced the smartphone officially.
However, the Unite A092 has been listed on Micromax’s official website for quite some time now, though no price tag is attached to it. Well, Android enthusiasts in India will be pleased to know that Micromax Unite A092 is now available for purchase in their country.
For the time being, Flipkart is the only major retailer that offers the Micromax Unite A092, but additional resellers may start selling the smartphone as well.
Those who wish to try the Micromax Unite A092 out can do so for only Rs 6,499 ($105 / €80), slightly less than the popular Unite 2, which is selling for Rs 8,000 ($130 / €95) outright.
But the cheaper price comes at the expense of lower specs, so don’t expect the Unite A092 to shine when it comes to hardware. The good news is that the smartphone ships with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, which is not that old for a budget-friendly handset.
Another strong point of the Micromax Unite A092 would be the 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, along with 1GB of RAM.
The smartphone also packs 8GB of internal memory, but users can further expand storage up to 32GB via microSD memory card. Keep in mind that the actual storage available for installing apps and games is much lower than the amount specified in the official specs.
Micromax Unite A092 sports a 4-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports 800 x 480 pixels resolution and features Crystal Glass coating.
It’s also worth mentioning that the 5-megapixel main camera on the back features autofocus, fixed focus, LED flash and HD (720p) video recording. There’s also a secondary VGA front-facing camera for video calls.
The budget-friendly smartphone is powered by a 1500 mAh battery, which is rated by the manufacturer for up to 140 hours of standby time or up to 5 hours of talk time.
As expected, the Unite A092 offers dual-SIM capability, along with additional connectivity options, including 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB and GPS with A-GPS support.
Customers who have already decided to go for the Micromax Unite A092 should know that Flipkart states that it can deliver orders in 4-5 business days.
