14 DAY TRIAL // No week goes by without Micromax launching another Android smartphone in India. Even though the company has yet to make it official, the new Canvas Hue 2 A316 is now available for purchase via eBay India.
According to a new report, this is the sequel to Canvas 4+ A315 smartphone that was launched a while back. Customers in India can now grab the Micromax Canvas Hue 2 for only Rs 11,736 ($185 / €160), even though it's been priced at Rs 12,499 ($195 / €175).
For the time being, eBay India is the only place where you can find it, but once Micromax makes it official, we expect the Canvas Hue 2 to go on sale through other major retailers across the country as well.
Moving on to specs, the Canvas Hue 2 is a more than decent smartphone for the price you pay. The only downside would be the fact that it ships with Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system out of the box.
Expanded availability is expected in the coming days
Since Micromax did not really unveiled the smartphone officially, it's unclear whether or not the Canvas Hue 2 will be getting an Android 5.0 Lollipop upgrade in the future. We hope it will because it packs powerful specs.
For example, the smartphone is equipped with a 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD card slot.
Micromax Canvas Hue 2 sports a 5-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution. It offers dual-SIM support, along with 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS with AGPS connectivity.
On the back, the device packs a 13-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 5-megapixel camera for video calls and selfies.
Sadly, the phone is powered by a 2,000 mAh battery, which might be a bit too low to get you going for 2 full days without a charge.
