Micromax has silently launched yet another Android smartphone in India, the Canvas Knight Cameo. As one of the many Canvas series smartphones, the Knight Cameo offers more than decent features at an affordable price.

Given that the Indian smartphone market is pretty crowded when it comes to new devices, the need for differentiation arises every time a company launches a brand new handset.

Up until now, the main differentiator would be the price/features ratio, but as more and more Indian OEMs launch new smartphones, the competition has become fierce lately.

The new Micromax Canvas Knight Cameo offers mid-range features for a decent price, but the device does not stand out from other smartphones in the same price range.

The handset may be preferred by Micromax fans, but since the company promised it would bring some of the most expensive smartphones in its portfolio to Android 4.4 KitKat and hasn’t done it yet, there aren’t too many customers that would now prefer Micromax phone over others launched by the competition.

Nevertheless, there are still lots of customers interested in Micromax smartphones in India, so here are some of Canvas Knight Cameo’s main selling points as reported by Micromaxcanvas.co.in.

First of all, the smartphone ships with Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system out of the box and offers dual-SIM capability with dual standby support.

On the inside, Micromax Canvas Knight Cameo is armed with a powerful 1.4GHz octa-core MediaTek processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory.

However, only 4GB of storage is available for users, so you will definitely need a microSD card for additional space. Luckily, the phone does offer microSD card support up to 32GB.

Another strong point of the Canvas Knight Cameo would be the 4.7-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution. On the back, Micromax’s mid-range smartphone packs an 8-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and video recording.

There’s also a secondary, no less impressive 5-megapixel camera in the front that should be perfect for taking selfies and video calls. It is also worth mentioning that the smartphone’s 2010 mAh battery has been rated by the manufacturer for up to 280 hours of standby time or up to 9 hours of talk time.

Micromax Canvas Knight Cameo is now available for purchase via MAHESHTELECOM for only Rs 12,499 ($205 / €155), but you can also get it for various prices at other online retailers across the country, including Snapdeal.
