Indian OEM Micromax has just released yet another affordable Android smartphone, the Bolt A66. The device leaked online last week with an unconfirmed price tag attached to it, but no release date was available at that time.

Fortunately, Micromax fans wanting a cheap handset did not have to wait too long, as Bolt A66 is now available for purchase in India via major online retailers.

According to fonearena, Micromax Bolt A66 can be had for only Rs 5,999 off contract, which is about $95 or €70. As expected, the handset provides dual-SIM support and comes packed with Android operating system.

Unfortunately, Micromax decided to go with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean platform for this device, probably in order to keep costs down.

Obviously, you won't get another major software update on the Bolt A66, so think about that before making a purchase. All in all, Micromax Bolt A66 is aimed at Android fans who cannot afford more expensive devices.

The Bolt A66 comes with pretty decent features for its price. It sports a large 4.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 854 pixels resolution.

In addition, it packs a disappointing 2-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash and video recording, as well as a VGA front-facing camera for video calls.

The good news is that Micromax Bolt A66 features HSDPA (7.2Mbps) support, so users will be able to take advantage of fast Internet navigating speeds.

On the inside, the smartphone is equipped with a 1 GHz single-core Spreadtrum SC7710G processor, which is complemented by 512 MB of RAM and 512 MB of storage (165 MB user memory).

Luckily, users will be able to further expand internal memory up to 32GB via microSD memory card. Other highlights of the entry-level smartphone include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR connectivity, built-in GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, FM Radio function and 1500 mAh battery.
