When Mick Jagger and his ballerina girlfriend Melanie Hamrick decided to go out on the balcony of their Swiss hotel room after a hot night in the bedroom, they might have done the biggest mistake of their lives. The ensuing scandal that emerged when the two were photographed together by paparazzi is now affecting Melanie too, not just Mick.

For Mick, it was a moral issue, the fact that he had moved on just months after his partner had committed suicide by hanging herself, but now it turns out that it's also a problem for Melanie, a dancer with the American Ballet Theater.

Page Six claims that the dancer is now in trouble with her bosses because she called in sick in order to make her trip to Switzerland where she met up with Jagger for what they thought would be an affair far from the eyes of the media.

Instead, they found their photos plastered all over the tabloids from both sides of the Atlantic, which triggered outrage among the public. An insider with the Ballet Theater is quoted as saying that “Calling in sick is a real no-no. It's unprofessional. That's not going to help her career.”

It's probably an even bigger no-no when the purpose of the day off is to fly off to Europe and fool around with an aging rock star who should still be in mourning, not chasing around 27-year-olds when he himself is a respectable 70.

Reports from the media after the photo made its way online mentioned that the two first met at a concert in Japan, which took place two weeks before L'Wren Scott committed suicide. Melanie, who has been nicknamed “Balcony Lover,” is said to have a thing for older men and there's no doubt that Mick likes his women young.

As of this week, Melanie Hamrick has been performing in the show “Gisele” at the Lincoln Center as a soloist, which is a not quite a principal dancer, but still better than “members of the company.” It will be interesting to see if her recent adventure is going to have consequences on her career.

Surely, the scandal has already had a big impact on Mick Jagger, who has seen his reputation tarnished and people pointing fingers at him for cheating on L'Wren Scott when she was still alive. Some reports even indicated that her suicide might have been linked to the fact that Jagger wouldn't agree to settle down with her.

L'Wren's sister went public and spoke bitterly about Jagger to the newspapers, blasting him as insensitive. Her brother, however, had kinder words towards the Rolling Stones' frontman and called him a nice guy.
