Kickstarter is a very popular crowd funding website where all kinds of innovative projects are backed up by users around the world and sometime gets the necessary funds to reach mass production.

Many of you have heard of timelapse photography, but to do it, you would either need an expensive intervalometer or you could trigger the camera shutter manually at predefined intervals using a remote control.

To create a timelapse, one would need to use a series of photos taken over a period of time and compile them together into a fast-forwarded video. Timelapses can be created over days, months or even years with the right gear, resulting in thousands of photos that will need to be put together to create the final video.

Michron is a small intervalometer that plugs into your camera and enables you to create timelapse videos with the utmost ease. The device has no buttons or screens and plugs into your camera's trigger port.

To program the device, you can use the dedicated Michron App on your iOS or Android smartphone from where you can make all the adjustments you need for your timelapse project.

Once you are happy with your settings, all you need is to plug in your phone into Michron using the programming cable and upload your settings to the device. After that, Michron will perform completely on its own based on the uploaded settings.

Michron's battery has a life of over 2500 hours, so you don't have to worry it will stop in the middle of an elaborate timelapse project.

If you're unsure what presets to use for your camera, Michron offers five pre-made settings (People, Clouds, Landscape, Cityscape and Stars) that automatically creates all the needed adjustments for your camera.

Michron works with any DSLR or point-and-shoot camera that has an external trigger port. If you are interested in purchasing Michron, you can head to Kickstarter where for $50 / €37 you could back up the project and receive your own Michron device.
