14 DAY TRIAL // After it was announced yesterday that the producers of the Marvel movie “Ant Man” had managed to convince Michael Douglas to sign on for their project, today, another actor gets his name linked with the film.
It's being rumored by The Wrap that “American Hustle” actor Michael Pena is being courted for another part in the film.
The project, directed by Evan Wright, has already managed to score some big names in its cast. Apart from Michael Douglas, who will be playing the retired Ant-Man “Hank” Pym, Paul Rudd is also in the film, playing Scott Lang, the younger version of the superhero.
Casting a comedic actor for the lead role would suggest that the director is looking to take a different approach to superhero movies. Wright has expressed his wish to make the film funnier that previous Marvel productions.
While Pena is famous for his dramatic roles, he has also got a funny side to him, which might be why he's being pursued by producers.
