Coming to end months and months of speculation, Michael Jackson will make a special appearance tomorrow at London’s O2 Arena, where he will announce a new tour. While rumors of a possible comeback of the King of Pop taking place this summer have been circulating lately, this is actually the first time when a statement officially hints at it, BBC Entertainment reports.

“Michael Jackson is expected to announce a series of summer comeback concerts at the O2 arena in London. The pop legend is due to appear at the venue on Thursday to make to a ‘special announcement,’ a statement said. It follows months of speculation about a string of money-spinning shows.” BBC informs.

This would confirm what Michael’s representatives recently told the media about how he was preparing “both a world tour and a series of specials and appearances.”

A little over a week ago, word of Michael performing at O2 Arena this summer first emerged in the British media. While it was nothing close to official, the fact that the report came from inside AEGLive, the organizer of the concert, did bring new hope to fans. Amidst talk that Michael would get as much as £1.5 million for a single night on stage, the report also promised fans that they would be witnessing the most impressive comeback in the history of showbiz – and, with a star such as Michael, that is somehow to be expected.

“It will be the greatest comeback in the history of pop and there would be no problem selling out the O2 every night. No one is concerned about his reputation and people don’t feel it is a risk. Organizers are confident people will come from all over the world to see him. There have been rumors about his health but that is not an issue. He is capable of doing all the shows. Bringing a star like Michael Jackson to the O2 is not simple. But things have really progressed and it is on the verge of being tied up.” organizers were telling the Daily Mail at the time.

Even if tickets are expected to sell for more than £500, which is the highest price ever asked for a live performance (at a Barbara Streisand concert), hopes are that Michael will not only manage to fill all the seats, but, at the same time, also make his way back into the spotlight.

Keep an eye on this space for the dates and other details of the upcoming tour, when Michael himself announces them tomorrow.
