As Michael Jackson’s personal life is starting to occupy more and more space in today’s media, it seems that at least on the music field his reputation is free from any damaging rumors. Moreover, one of his best-selling singles of all times, “Thriller,” will be made into a Broadway musical, which can be but good news for fans worldwide, Yahoo! is reporting.

Yahoo! got to speak to producer James L. Nederlander, who is also the head of the company that owns nine Broadway theaters, and got confirmation that the rights for making “Thriller” into a musical had been acquired. While what exactly said music will be dealing with or how it will play out has not yet been determined, Nederlander seems positive that it will be a blast, certainly one of those shows that will make history.

“I love the idea of making ‘Thriller’ a musical. Girl meets boy, they fall in love, boy has big secret, now what?” Nederlander has told Yahoo!. Moreover, this is happily not just a case of wishful-thinking, as a spokesperson for Michael Jackson has confirmed to the same media outlet that a deal has been signed, which means that work on the musical will start any day now. “The Nederlanders and Michael Jackson represent live theater and musical excellence, so let the music begin,” Tohme Tohme, Jackson’s spokesperson, says.

As of late, Michael’s personal life has been getting a lot of attention again, especially since the singer was spotted visiting a doctor’s clinic with a mask covering his face, and a black veil that shrouded him from prying eyes. And, while certain media outlets have been quick to cry “terminal disease,” fans of the legendary singer have remained unabated that his music should be all that must interest us at this point. James L. Nederlander seems to know this better than anyone else.

Stay tuned here for more details on the upcoming “Thriller” musical, especially since word in the industry also has it that it will most definitely include tracks from two of Michael’s albums, “Thriller” and “Off the Wall.”
