With still a long way to go until June 2009, when “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” hits theaters, fans of the film find themselves hardly able to bear the tension until the release date. Michael Bay, the man behind what promises to be one of the hottest films of this summer, says they should just wait patiently some more, because what’s coming their way will certainly be worth the wait.

Speaking with Collider, Bay has revealed that “Transformer 2” will not only be bigger and better, but will also take into account all that fans expected from the first film, but that, for some reason or another, they did not get. “It’s bigger, and it’s not just trying to be bigger to be bigger… This one is Epic in scale.” Bay tells Collider as to what fans should expect from the sequel.

As for the elements that Bay has struggled to introduce in the second film, after carefully listening to fans’ complaints, the director vouches that “Fallen” will certainly not disappoint. The robots “have more personality” (this being the biggest complaint regarding the first movie), while the entire film is “much darker,” thus eliminating the cheery atmosphere that predominates in the first part of the first installment.

Bay also tells Collider that he is not opposed to the idea of making “Transformers” into a trilogy, which can’t but please most fans out there. However, he mentions, whether a third film will be the issue or not, Bay will still be taking one year off once he’s done with “Fallen,” since it has proven to be too much of a strain for him. Also speaking of “Fallen,” Bay explains that it currently runs for 2 hours and 20 minutes, but since it’s still deep in editing, it will most certainly not last that much.

“Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,” starring Shia LeBeouf, Megan Fox and Josh Duhamel, opens in June 2009. Until then, stay tuned here for more details.
