14 DAY TRIAL // A city official in Mexico has been fired after a video of him humiliating a young boy selling candy has gone viral.
Juan Diego López Jiménez holds the basket as a young vendor, maybe 10 years old, is made to throw out of all its contents on the street. He complies but cries while doing so, knowing that it is his livelihood.
Before making him drop his merchandise, López Jiménez “confiscated” two packs of smokes from the kid's basket. He worked as a city inspector in the town of Tabasco.
Yancuic writes that not only has the public worker lost his job, the child and his family have been compensated.
The governor has offered him psychological and medical support and the city is now paying for him to be able to attend school.
