As expected MetroPCS has just announced that the LG Connect 4G Android-based smartphone will be available for purchase beginning next month at the carrier’s stores as well as online.

However, the operator fails to reveal the handset’s pricing tags, though it recommends customers to pair it with its $50 and $60 plans with taxes and regulatory fees included.

Those who are not familiar with MetroPCS plans should know that the carrier’s plans feature unlimited talk, text and 4GLTE web browsing, with the $50 plan offering 1GB of multimedia streaming access, whereas the $60 plan offers unlimited multimedia streaming access.

LG Connect 4G is MetroPCS’s first LTE-enabled device announced this year and comes with a 1.2 GHz dual core processor, complemented by a PowerVR SGX530 graphics processing unit,  and Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system.

Tagged as an “affordable 4G LTE device,” the phone is expected to be launched by other US-based carriers, including Verizon Wireless and Sprint. In this regard, the LG Connect 4G has already been spotted a while back as LG VS840 for Verizon, and LG LS840 for Sprint.

Aside its powerful CPU and LTE support, LG Connect 4G comes with a stunning 4-inch WVGA NOVA capacitive touchscreen display, which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.

The phone also packs dual cameras (5-megapixel rear camera with 720p video recording and 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls), Dolby Mobile feature. It also comes with Rhapsody Unlimited Music service pre-loaded.

Our customers demand a stellar service and device experience and we’re excited to provide another option that allows them to enjoy entertainment, handle business and stay connected at an incredible overall value. We’re committed to meeting our customers’ changing needs and offering a full spectrum of handsets that fit every budget and lifestyle,” said Tom Keys, president and COO of MetroPCS.
