United States-based mobile phone carrier MetroPCS Communications, Inc., provider of unlimited, no annual contract, flat-rate wireless services, has just announced the introduction of two new options for its customers, with the addition of Visual Voice Mail and Visual Voice Mail Plus services to its offering.

The new services will be offered on select devices from the wireless carrier, and will enable users manage voice mails straight from their mobile phones, the same as they would for SMS, MMS or email messages.

The new Visual Voice Mail service provides all MetroPCS customers with the possibility to listen to their voice messages with a single click.

Moreover, it enables them easily browse through messages visually, and also see the contact's profile picture.

On top of that, the new Visual Voice Mail Plus service comes with text transcriptions of voice messages, which are being displayed on the phone's screen.

With the Visual Voice Mail service, users can respond to any voice message via text, MMS, call, or email, even at times when in areas where audio playback is inconvenient.

“MetroPCS is committed to providing our subscribers with innovative mobile services that ensure the best possible experience and allow them to have it all - phones, services and features,” Roger D. Linquist, president, CEO and chairman of MetroPCS.

“Launching the Visual Voice Mail service on MetroPCS devices was a natural next step to provide additional value to our service plans and features that are already the best value in the wireless industry.”

The new Visual Voice Mail service is being launched at the wireless carrier on handsets like the Samsung Galaxy Indulge, the LG Optimus M and the Huawei Ascend, as well as on the Huawei Ascend Sanctioned by TapouT.

The wireless carrier plans on adding support for more mobile phones in the near future, including BlackBerry 8530 and BREW-based devices.

“MetroPCS' Visual Voice Mail is available on plans starting at $45 for non-4G handsets and $50 for 4G handsets. Visual Voice Mail Plus is an additional $5 on each plan,” the wireless services provider concluded.
