US-based carrier MetroPCS has just announced the upcoming availability of the affordable LG Motion 4G Android smartphone. As the name suggests, the handset is aimed at customers who wish to take advantage of MetroPCS’ new LTE network.

LG Motion 4G will be available later this week at all MetroPCS brick and mortar stores, as well as online. Customers can purchase the smartphone for $149 USD (120 EUR) outright.

However, MetroPCS offers a promotion on any 4G LTE smartphone in celebration to LG Motion 4G and the unlimited 4G LTE plan launches, which means customers will be able to purchase the second LG Motion 4G for only $99 (80 EUR) off-contract.

The affordable LG Motion 4G is powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system out of the box and packs a fast 1.2 GHz dual-core processor.

According to MetroPCS, this is its first smartphone powered by Ice Cream Sandwich. Thanks to its powerful CPU, the LG Motion 4G provides users with smooth multi-tasking features while they use the phone for other actions, such as capturing photos, browsing the Internet or watching movies.

In this regard, LG Motion 4G sports a 5-megpaixel rear photo snapper, which features LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recorder.

The phone’s 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display comes with Corning Gorilla Glass coating for extra protection against scratches and scrapes.

It also comes with simultaneous voice and data on 4G LTE, as well as LG QuickMemo, which allows users to customize messages and share comments through a slew of content including web pages, digital magazines, photos and more.

Other highlights of the LG Motion 4G include various camera features, such as Cheese Shutter and Time Catch Shot, allowing for multiple photos to be taken at once. Obviously, the phone features the ability to take still pictures while recording video at the same time.
