Boingo Wireless and MetroPCS have recently announced that the Boingo Mobile application will come bundled on some of the carrier's Wi-Fi enabled smartphones that run on Android mobile platform.

MetroPCS is one of the major pre-paid network operators in the US with almost 8 million subscribers.

Boingo Wireless is one of the leading providers of Wi-Fi services with more than 200,000 hot spots all over the world in places such as airports, hotels, cafes and coffee shops.

According to the agreement Boingo's application will enable MetroPCS customers with Wi-Fi smartphones to sign up for Boingo Mobile, an unlimited Wi-Fi service that includes access to more than 200,000 locations worldwide.

“With approximately 7.9 million subscribers who believe in value-priced unlimited access plans, MetroPCS is a natural partner to distribute the Boingo Mobile app to its customers,” said Dave Hagan, president and CEO for Boingo Wireless.

“We look forward to further enhancing the MetroPCS customer experience through Boingo’s fast, reliable, unlimited and globally-pervasive Wi-Fi service,” added Hagan.

The preloaded app for Android smartphones is supposed to provide easy, one-click access to more than 171 different networks around the world with a single username.

Initially, Boingo Mobile will come bundled on MetroPCS' LG Optimus M and Huawei Ascend, both of which running on the Android operating platform. It is unclear if the application will be available for other Wi-Fi enabled smartphones running different mobile platforms.

Customers of the carrier who already bought one of the two aforementioned affordable Android smartphones will be able to launch Boingo Mobile from the @metro App store.

As soon as they soon up the application will provide them with quick access to more than 200,000 location worldwide for $7.95 per month.

As a side note, MetroPCS customers who own other smartphones compatible with Boingo Mobile can download it via the MetroPCS download site.
