Method Man, real name Clifford Smith, has the strangest way of saying “no” to an autograph request, a woman from Fort Bend County, Texas, says. In court documents filed a few days ago, the female fan claims Method Man shot her six times with an air gun in the chest and torso area when she asked for his autograph, as AllHipHop News can confirm.

The incident reportedly occurred back in November last year, after Method Man and Redman performed at the House of Blues in Houston. Mary Anderson, the injured female fan, went outside the tour bus the rapper was in and asked for an autograph, which is when he came out at the window and started firing in her direction. She was hit six times and sustained multiple injuries, the woman claims in court papers, and she’s now asking for unspecified compensation.

“Method Man, born Clifford Smith, is accused of shooting a pellet gun at Mary Anderson from the window of his tour bus, as she sought an autograph. In the lawsuit which was filed on Thursday (July 30) in the District Court of Harris County, Texas, Anderson claims she was struck at least six times in the chest and torso area and required medical attention after the incident. The rapper is also accused of infliction of bodily injury, infliction of emotional distress, as well as offensive physical contact.” AllHipHop says.

Because of Method Man’s extremely violent act, but also due to the fact that the gesture was as surprising as it was unprovoked, Anderson is not asking damages only for the suffering she went through immediately after the shots. Court papers also mention compensation for “physical pain in suffering in the past and future,” but also for the legal and medical bills incurred in the meantime, physical impairment and disfigurement, and mental anguish.

“The conduct of the defendant was so extreme and outrageous in character and so extreme in degree as to go beyond all bounds of decency and should be regarded as atrocious conduct and utterly intolerable in a civilized society.” Mary Anderson’s attorney is quoted as saying, as per the aforementioned publication. A rep for Method Man was not immediately available for comment at the time of writing.
