“The kid’s really talented,” drummer Lars Ulrich says in new interview

A short while ago, a video of Justin Bieber air-guitar playing Metallica’s “Fade to Black” started making the rounds and I distinctly recall reading some very furious comments from rockers about it. Well, apparently, the guys in Metallica think it was a cool thing to do.

You can see the video in question embedded above. The Metallica quotes are from TMZ, which has frontman James Hetfield admitting, “Are we Beliebers? Yes.”

That sound you’re hearing right now is the sound made by a little piece of a heart dying in every true rocker out there.

“I think the kid's really talented and obviously to go through what he's going through at that early age must be a mind[expletive]. So the fact that he still goes out there and does it, I admire that and I think he's super talented, so I guess I am kind of a Belieber,” drummer Lars Ulrich clarifies.

So they’re not really Beliebers in the sense that they buy and love Bieber’s music: they just respect him as a fellow artist, for being so young and having already achieved so much, and still having a good head on his shoulders. Which is more than OK, I guess.
