Remember those side-scrolling action/shooter games we used to find in arcades and play cooperative with our friends? Does Metal Slug ring a bell? Yeah, "those were the days" - you took the words right out of my mouth. Well, just in case there's someone out there who still likes the idea of playing side-scrolling games, you should know that SNK Playmore (remember the SNK logo? Let's not say those were the days again, it makes me sad...) and Ignition Entertainment are pleased to announce the European release of Metal Slug Anthology for the PlayStation2.

The game has seen its PSP port and performed beautifully. Now, with a PS2 version, gamers are in for a big one as the Metal Slug Anthology will contain the following: Metal Slug, Metal Slug 2, Metal Slug X, Metal Slug 3, Metal Slug 4, Metal Slug 5 and of course the latest addition to the series, Metal Slug 6.

Debuting in the arcades on the NEO-GEO MVS arcade system back in April 1996, the Metal Slug series has become one of the most-loved arcade and console gaming franchises. Peter Rollinson, Product Manager, Ignition Entertainment said: "The Metal Slug franchise is synonymous with frantic arcade action and over the top exciting gun play. PlayStation 2 owning fans can also now experience the thrills that this popular franchise has to offer."

■ Control conversions are perfect, don't worry about lag or anything like that; ■ Don't worry about not being able to play alongside a friend, 2 Player Co-operative play is there (it's practically the purpose of the game); ■ You have unlockable items to keep you wanting for more; ■ Bonus Galleries contain classic poster and character art and other Metal Slug goodies.

Metal Slug Anthology PS2 is scheduled for release in May 2007 and is going to be distributed by Atari in UK, France, Germany and the Nordic countries.
