The Easy mode will make enemies react more slowly

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is one of the biggest launches of 2015, but the leader of the development team working on it, Hideo Kojima, is always ready to play a joke on the massive player base of the series and has used a special and very long video to introduce a new Chicken Hat mode for the game that a limited number of players will probably use.

The game creator has used a special Christmas-themed Kojima Station video to tease a major announcement about his upcoming title, but he then talked about movies and other trivia for a long time, with most gamers probably tuning out in order to do something else with their time.

Then in the final minutes of the broadcast, Hideo Kojima returned to the theme of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and revealed that he would introduce a Chicken Hat mode.

Main character Snake will be forced to always wear the rather silly hat, but the reaction time for all enemies will be lower and gamers can see objectives and other potential dangers in the dark with more ease.

Gamers will have to die a lot in order to be asked to wear the new hat, and once it is activated, the mode cannot be stopped for the duration of the campaign.

Even during cutscenes, of which Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will have plenty, the main character will look ridiculous, which is the price newcomers will have to pay if they are unable to get through the game any other way.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain does not need an easy mode

Given the hardcore following that the series has attracted over the years, it’s unlikely that many players will use the Chicken Hat mode.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is at the moment set to arrive on the PC, the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4, and older consoles.

Some rumors are saying that launch is set to take place on February 24, but the date has not been officially mentioned by publisher Konami.

The new title is designed to use an entirely open world structure for the first time and gamers will be able to use the equipment they have and the tactics they favor in order to achieve their dynamic objectives.
