Rumor time again back at Konami and Kojima Productions as a couple of reports have confirmed a Metal Gear Solid 4 demo for release this February on the PSN. This piece of information was first spotted in the PSW magazine, following their hands-on experience with the game. According to the same magazine, the demo we'll be playing at Valentine's Day (hopefully) will feature the same level they've tested.

Its action takes place in a "Middle Eastern war zone", but you might already know that from the many trailers we've seen at various game conventions, specially the Tokyo Games Show. Just hope that your hard drive ready to host the MGS 4 demo, because I have a feeling that it's going to be a big one. After all, we're dealing with a stealth action game that gives the player as much freedom as a Marine can have in a war zone (in real life). However, Solid Snake's no Marine, specially for the gamers who are familiar with the secret agent, now an old but still lethal man.

What's neat about this experience is that you can choose any way you like to complete a certain objective, as the world's vast and open around you and it's waiting for you to use abilities, weapons and gadgets to turn it into an explosive hell. The latest MGS title started out as a troublemaking phenomenon, specially because we weren't sure if it was going to be an Xbox 360 exclusive title, or a PS3 exclusive title, perhaps a multi-platform game... Finally, all doubts vanished when MGS 4 was confirmed as a PS3 exclusive, enraging the 360 owners and making the folks over at Sony smile gently.

Yes, this game is popular already and it WILL sell well, but will it manage to sell at least 1 million copies to cover the costs of its production? That's the number reported by Ryan Payton, the game's assistant producer and it's a pretty high landmark, even for a Konami hit, like MGS 4.
