14 DAY TRIAL // A British man receiving a portrait of a woman that he depicts as a "horrid old crone" has been surprised to find out that she is related to him.
82-year-old Keith Webb of Winchester, Hampshire got the painting by mail from an unidentified sender.
He set off on a search for the identity of the mystery woman whom he dubbed so ugly that his wife banished the portrait to the garage.
"My wife thought it looked rather evil and she said 'I do not want that in the house' so in the garage it goes," he tells the Mirror.
He tried to find out who she was and asked everyone he knew until a relative in Australia recalled seeing the art piece hung in his late uncle's house.
Webb found out that he was in possession of a portrait of his great, great grandmother.
