Another cloning act in the industry

Oh my God! Looks like this creature may actually be a straight up rip of another! This is another cloning act in the electronic industry. This is the second time only today, after RAmos "borrowed" some features from LG, it's time for the French Memup's new Orizon portable media player to take after its older version made by-Oups!-Coby. This time, the resemblance is amazing.

Looking at the pictures that were posted all over the Internet, it seems that Memup was bluffing when they announced their latest addition to the portfolio, as the Orizon amazingly resembles the American Coby 4330 PMP, which entered the market a couple of months ago.

But it is very hard to deny such similarities. Who copies who? One is the exact carbon replica of the other. And they're not even Chinese.

Not to mention that the portable players deliver the same information in their specification list. The same 4.3-inch screen, with a higher screen resolution on the Orizon item, the same 30GBG storage capacity and the same useful FM radio tuner.

As for the compatibility, you won't be surprised to hear that both of them feature the same video file compatibility with MJPEG supported data along with more popular formats and audio supports which seem to be actually better in the Coby portable media player since it can deal with OGG support.

But wait till you hear that the only difference lies in the-Yup!-in price tag. The Memup Orizon sports a shameful 100 bucks more expensive price tag than its twin brother, the Coby PMP4330, which also functions as a PVR.

I just wonder, is it so damn hard to make original portable media players? After all, it only has to be glossy, black and sleek to get the juice flowing. That's if you're not Samsung, of course!
