Production cut works but prices are still more than convenient for the holidays

Looks like RAM has finally stopped dropping in price, much to the ease of mind of semiconductor makers.

After over a year of nearly constant price decline, chip prices are finally stabilizing.

Elpida, one of the major suppliers of such chips, decided to lower its output, to alleviate the oversupply problem.

This means that, much as consumers may have hoped for it, RAM isn't going to get any cheaper now.

Then again, this also means that prices aren't ready to start climbing back up just yet, and even if they do, it won't nearly come close to making HDDs, or SSDs (solid state drives) or whatever else, any more convenient.

As such, there still is every reason to choose a new memory kit for Christmas, as we fairly thoroughly explained here.
