The SDHC card has 8 GB capacity and Class 10 speed of 10 MB/s or more

Toshiba has just released a secure digital high-capacity memory card that also happens to possess an integrated Wi-Fi chip, allowing it to access wireless LAN communication networks.

Called THNSW008GAA-B(QB6), the newcomer abides by the performance guidelines of Class 10 speed rating, meaning that the minimum performance is of 10 MB/s, although real-life throughput might be quite a bit higher.

Memory cards are odd things, performance-wise. The complete opposite of USB-connected and SATA storage devices, which have a certain performance potential they almost never reach.

SDHC cards, all memory cards really, usually go a lot faster than the performance defined by the Class 2, 4, 6, 10, UHS and UHS-II specs.

Then again, a good case can be made for this being owed solely to how the specifications look at the minimum acceptable throughput instead of the maximum.

Anyway, the THNSW008GAA-B(QB6) has a capacity of 8 GB (around 7.2 usable for real), and complies with every relevant SD card and Wireless LAN standard, for both performance and security.

It falls to the buyers, though, business users in particular, to develop their own apps. Fortunately, the "FlashAir Developers" website should have all the API (Application Programming Interface) information needed to do that.
