With 4 GB of storage and support for Vista ReadyBoost

Memorex is one of the best-known names on the data storage products' market, especially in the area of optical media. However, Imation's brand has also launched quite an extensive line-up of USB Flash Drives, the latest addition to this already large family being the M-Flyer Pilots, a portable storage solution that provides users up to 4 GB of storage space in a very sleek and attractive external casing.

The first thing that draws the attention to the new drive is its very aerodynamic shape (reminds you of an old fighter plane, don't you think?), as well as the very interesting choice of colors, namely a silver-toned body with metallic blue or red accents, based on capacity (either 2 GB of 4 GB). Moreover, the device features a very versatile capless design, as well as a spring-loaded, retractable USB connector (which prevents the USB connector from being damaged).

As mentioned right from the start, the drive supports Windows Vista's ReadyBoost feature, which allows users to access the M-Flyer Pilot to provide additional system memory and boost the performance of PCs running Vista without adding internal memory components. Nevertheless, despite being optimized for Vista, the drive is also compatible with all other Windows operating systems, as well as Mac and Linux.

"We designed the M-Flyer Pilot for consumers who want a unique look for their USB flash drive. And at the same time, we know that a capless design is also highly desirable to most flash drive buyers," said Carla Pihowich, director of marketing, Imation Consumer Division. "With its push-button USB connector, ReadyBoost capability and new security software, the M-Flyer Pilot is equal parts form and function."

The new M-Flyer Pilot will be available starting from July in retail stores across the US, and has MSRPs ranging from $49.99 to $79.99, depending on the provided storage capacity.
