A new innovative adventure game to be released by dtp Entertainment

The point and click adventure genre might not be the most popular one at the moment, but I am very glad to see that this does not stop game developers working on brand new and very exciting projects that might even resuscitate this classic type of games. So, one of the projects that has the potential to enter history books is dtp Entertainment's Memento Mori, a mystery-adventure title that features no less than six different endings!

As you might already imagine, the player's decision will have a direct impact on the story and, therefore, on the way Memento Mori ends. There are several so-called key scenes for the two playable characters, detectives Lara and Max. They are spread across the entire game and allow for a number of different solutions. This means that the key scenes are hidden, for instance in puzzles or dialogs. And that is a really interesting change to the genre!

For example, one of the game's characters, Lara, must prove she is a thoroughbred policewoman who thinks things through before she acts, even in dramatic situations. Even moral decisions such as unfriendly answers can have an effect on the game's ultimate ending.

"Therefore, the player can't make wrong decisions," explains Paul Guillaumon, the producer of Memento Mori. You will progress no matter how you solve the key scene puzzles. But the game evaluates all decisions in background. Then, it determines from the results which one of the six endings will be showed. "This way we can motivate all those who are curious to see the other endings to replay the game," adds Paul Guillaumon. And he promises that "The six endings are vastly different with respect to Max and Lara's future".

So, could we hope for another game as innovative as Fahrenheit? It sure sounds like that, but we'll only know for ourselves as soon as it launches, most likely next year.
