“Sabrina, the Teenage Witch” star Melissa Joan Hart has recently lost a lot of weight, as she reveals in a new interview and on the cover of People magazine, where she’s proudly showing off her toned body in a deux-piece swimsuit. Recently, the actress was heard saying how she lived in fear Farrah Fawcett would die and she would lose the much coveted cover of the magazine, a comment for which she is now apologizing on her MySpace page.

Landing the cover of People magazine is no small accomplishment and, clearly, Hart must be aware of this fact. As PageSix reveals, this is precisely why the star was telling friends the other day how she lived in fear that original “Charlie’s Angels” actress would find her end from anal cancer and the People cover would have to go to a tribute to her. Having spent all that time working out and dieting, and with the ice cream and candy store opening nearing, Hart truly felt Fawcett dying was the worst thing that could have happened to her during the week before People came out, PageSix says.

Now, the actress is apologizing of sorts. As per her own words, she did say something along those lines, but she would have never worded it that way since Farrah has and will always continue to be one of her biggest idols, for whom she has nothing but respect, admiration and sympathy, especially now that her condition is reportedly deteriorating. At the same time, Hart is also using the opportunity to extend her best wishes to Farrah and the entire family, somehow asking them not to pay attention to everything they read in the media.

“My apology to Farrah. Current mood: crushed. It has come to my attention that something I said has been completely misconstrued in the press. I was merely explaining what I had read about how the cover of People magazine was chosen from an article last week I read in the Times. I truly hope that Farrah and her family know I wish them the best at this time in her life. And that I would never be so selfish to disrespect anyone, let alone someone I admire greatly.” Melissa Joan Hart explains.

In a different post, the actress also details her mother’s condition, who had to undergo an eight-hour surgery and was recuperating at home, in what has been described by the tabs as a bid to show the world that she would never be so insensitive as to make such a cruel joke at Farrah’s expense.
