14 DAY TRIAL // We’ve witnessed an avalanche of leaks centering on the upcoming Meizu MX5 flagship as of late, but today we get word that Meizu might be planning to launch not one but two phones.
The folks at Mobile Dad now claim that, following Apple’s pattern, Meizu is looking to introduce a MX5 Pro model alongside the MX5.
The phone has already leaked into the wild in images that showcase the back of the device, in white, and its front. According to the leak, the MX5 Pro is a more powerful version of the MX5 that also takes advantage of a larger display.

We’re told the phone should come out with a 6-inch display with QHD resolution (2560 x 1400 pixels) and 4GB of RAM. The phone will sport an oval-shaped physical button located below the display, which is not something atypical for Meizu.
A fingerprint scanner is expected to come embedded in said home button. Moving on, we find an interesting surprise in the hardware department. According to the rumor, the MX5 Pro will be the third phone after the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge to take advantage of Samsung’s Exynos 7420 chipset.
So knowing how Samsung’s flagships perform, we should expect the MX5 Pro to be quite beastly as well. Previous rumors claimed that future Meizu smartphones would boast MediaTek SoCs, so take the info above with a grain of salt.
We’re also told that the phone will bundle a 20MP camera on the back. Moreover, we should apparently be expecting to see the MX5 Pro launch in July, which means the producing company could be releasing it alongside the MX5.

The recent reports related to the MX5 suggest it will arrive with a 5.5-inch display with 1080 resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels). At some point, we were told the phone would offer a QHD panel, but Meizu will probably be reserving that one for the MX5 Pro.
The phone should draw power from a MediaTek Helio X10 64-bit octa-core processor working in concert with 3GB of RAM. It will also don a 20MP main camera, while a 5MP selfie shooter will adorn the front.
