She has fully displayed her running and screaming skills in the two “Transformers” movies, so now screen beauty Megan Fox is looking to widen her range by doing comedy as well. With a comedy horror film, “Jennifer’s Body,” coming up in a few weeks, the star is also getting to make the best of an opportunity that took even her by surprise, by hosting the season premiere of Saturday Night Live, Life&Style informs.

Sources close to the actress tell the media Fox will be doing the first episode of the 35th season, and she’s extremely happy about it. Not only will this introduce her to a new segment of the audience, the one that presumably did not go to see her in “Transformers,” but it will also show that she can do comedy. Moreover, it is being said, hosting SNL will boost her profile to promote the aforementioned flick.

“Megan is psyched to have gotten this opportunity. She has a lot of surprises in store for the audience. This is the perfect opportunity for her to show off her comedic skills, as she’s launching her new movie Jennifer’s Body [on September 18].” the insider reveals for Life&Style. Moreover, Megan has been preparing for her comedy debut, the source further explains. “Megan has been brushing up on her comedy by doing a digital short with funnyman Andy Samberg, the insider adds.” writes the mag.

Judging from her many interviews over the past months, Megan Fox really seems bent to prove the world – and critics in particular – that she’s more than just a gorgeous brunette that does better in movies when she doesn’t say a line and just sits there looking pretty. In an older promo interview, she unwillingly blasted director Michael Bay who put her in “Transformers,” saying that everyone knew that his weren’t movies for acting since he placed too much emphasis on action.

Also recently, Fox tried to convince her fans and critics that she was not “the next Angelina Jolie,” as the media often refers to her and that she wanted to be taken for a serious actress. “I think it’s ‘cause she [Angelina Jolie] has tattoos really, I think a lack of creativity on the media’s part. I am a brunette with tattoos, I curse. I joked about it which people find outrageous so they want to constantly compare that to her. You know Shia [LaBeouf] is the new Tom Hanks, Rihanna is the new Beyonce. Everybody is the new somebody although none of us are any of those people so you just walk around with it you live with it.” Fox was saying a while back, rubbishing the never-ending comparisons to Jolie.
