As it is customary in Hollywood, if a film fares well at the box-office, then a sequel is almost guaranteed. The same applies for “Tomb Raider,” a movie that already had two installments, both panned by critics but with a loyal fanbase. Rumor is building up that a third film is in the making, with “Transformers” hottie Megan Fox coming to replace Angelina Jolie.

While nothing is definite yet as to a third movie coming out at all, several media outlets, the British Mirror among them, are reporting that Fox is already attached to the project. Either because of her striking resemblance to Angelina, or because she would do a great job as the iconic Lara Croft, the producers want her and no other for the part, it is being said.

Other than the fact that Megan is poised as a “strong candidate” for the part, nothing much is known about what would be the third film depicting Lara’s adventures. However, fans of both the movie and the game with the same name are already saying that Megan would probably do her part quite well. She has not only the physical attributes necessary to play Lara, they say, meaning she is breathtaking, beautiful and charming, but she has already proven her ability to do a physically demanding movie, having made her debut in the smashing hit “Transformers.”

Speaking of which, Megan is already hard at work on the set of Michael Bay’s “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,” the follow-up to the 2007 hit. Here, she joins Shia LeBeouf and Josh Duhamel to fight a “new threat [that] arrives from times of old,” when “the battle for Earth has ended, but the battle for the universe has just begun,” as goes the synopsis of the movie. The machines are, of course, an essential part of their plan of saving Earth.

“Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” drops in theaters in June 2009. Meanwhile, stay tuned here for more on this “Tomb Raider” rumor.
