14 DAY TRIAL // Add one more celebrity baby to the weird name list. New parents Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green decided to name their newborn son Bodhi Ransom Green. We'll let that sink in for a minute before we proceed.
Ransom sounds like an invitation to kidnapping but, according to documents obtained by TMZ, this is actually going to be the baby's legal name. Bodhi is Megan and Brian second child together, they also have another boy, by the name of Noah Shannon.
As it turns out, Bodhi means “awakened,” and it's a word mainly used in Buddhism for the understanding a Buddha has of the nature of things. Taken out of context, it's usually gotten to mean “enlightened” when used in English.
The other name, Ransom, doesn't need any kind of explanation, but it does raise an eyebrow. Sadly, it's likely we will never know what went on through the parents' mind when they picked out this one as the name of their son.
Megan gave birth to Bodhi Ransom last Wednesday at the Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles and the couple made the official announcement later in the week. The Fox-Green family is growing steadily, as Megan is also the step-mother to Kassius, Green's son with ex-partner Vanessa Marcil. Kassius is going to be 12 next month.
The happy mother opened up about her boys in an interview saying “I think [Noah] is going to be an amazing big brother with time. I think he has an idea, but I don't think he understands that a baby will be living with us all of the time – that will be an adjustment.”
The actress continued as she gushed “He loves to be the center of attention and I also think he is a really sensitive child. I think that he’s going to be a nurturer.”
