As Megan Fox’s popularity soared once the first “Transformers” film hit the theaters, so did she remain grounded in her out-of-the-spotlight personal life. This also included her long-running romance and engagement with Brian Austin Green of the “Beverly Hills 90210” fame – until now, several sources are saying. The two actors have just called it quits on their relationship and are moving on after almost 5 years together.

Although this would certainly please Megan’s male fans all over the world, the sources that have spilled the beans on the alleged breakup are also revealing that Megan and Brian remain close friends, which, it has been pointed out, means that the door to a reconciliation is still open. Whatever it was that led to the split is not yet known, but it is believed that it was Fox’s blooming career, as well as Brian’s desire to pursue his own dreams.

“The relationship had run its course. It’s completely amicable, and they are remaining friends.” an unnamed source points out for Us Weekly, adding that “Both are focusing on their careers.” As noted above, the two stars met in 2004 and got engaged in November 2006. Since they made their engagement public, they have been preparing for a wedding, it is being emphasized – nothing too fancy or flashy, just a simple ceremony done on the hush-hush and with only a few select guests.

Up to this moment, neither of the two stars has made any statement regarding the alleged split. Until they do, fans of the stunning actress should prepare for a string of silver screen appearances, which include the blockbuster “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,” scheduled for release in June, and possibly a reboot of “Tomb Raider,” with Megan filling in for Angelina Jolie.

Speaking of which, while the “Tomb Raider” is almost a certain thing, according to sources in the industry, Megan’s involvement in it is yet to be determined. Last month, the rumor emerged that the movie studio wanted Fox as Lara Croft, since she was the best Angelina Jolie replacement they could think of: young, gorgeous and physically able to action movies.
