Known for her stunning looks, Megan Fox has also gotten a fair share of media attention for her love of tattoos, of which she has quite a few. The Marilyn Monroe piece on her right forearm, though, will soon be gone.

The former “Transformers” actress, who once said she got the Marilyn tattoo as a “warning” of the perils of fame, made a public appearance at a recent event – and people couldn’t help but notice that the piece was blurry and less visible than before.

Since this was clearly not a case of body makeup (that is to say, the tattoo was not covered under layers of foundation), it could very well be that Fox is in the process of having it removed, speculation has it.

PopEater notes that the reason why Fox may have decided to have the tattoo lasered off is that she’s received most of the flack for it, with many saying it was “tacky” and too big for her delicate frame.

“It seems that Norma Jean has left the building, however. Fox showed up at a recent event for Armani with Marilyn looking like a shadow of her former self,” the e-zine adds.

“It seems the actress has undergone laser treatments to remove the portrait, which looked noticeably lighter and less detailed,” PopEater says.

No word yet on what determined Fox to change her mind about the piece.

“I really admire Marilyn Monroe but I would never try to emulate her. I got the tattoo as a warning. It warns me not to let myself be treated so badly by the film industry so that it breaks me down,” she said when she was first asked about it, as per the same publication.

Of course, that’s not to say that Megan will stop getting ink done: the actress already has an impressive collection of tattoos and she repeatedly said that she would get more because she thinks they’re beautiful.

“[People] talk about how I’m trashy because I have tattoos... Tattoos aren’t limited to sailors. I find them beautiful, so I’m going to keep doing it,” the gorgeous actress once said.
