14 DAY TRIAL // MeetMe, the popular social discovery application, has just made its debut on Windows Phone operating system, after conquering Android and iOS platforms.
According to MeetMe, their Windows Phone application is meant to offer a smoother, more seamless experience than opening a mobile browser to use the MeetMe mobile website.
Those that want to get started with MeetMe will be pleased to know that the app features real-time chat and features the same design layout of the Android and iOS apps.
Last but not least, developers have confirmed that in addition to the application released in Store, they are planning to release an improved mobile web version of MeetMe for Windows Phone users in the coming weeks.
“We are excited to bring the MeetMe app to Windows Phone users. Before we launched the Windows app, approximately 10% of all mobile web sessions came from Windows Phone.
“With the app now available, we expect our number of Windows Phone users to increase, especially as we continue to grow in the United States, India, and Brazil, which are some of Windows Phone Store's larger markets,” said Geoff Cook, CEO of MeetMe.
You can now download MeetMe for Windows Phone for free via Windows Phone Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Windows Phone 8.1.
Are MeetMe's social network systems secure enough?
MeetMee's social network systems were breached last year by hackers who managed to gain unauthorized access to the computer systems of the social network, affecting an unknown number of users.
The company behind the social network confirmed that details such as user names, email addresses, and passwords have been exposed to individuals.
However, MeetMe has taken precautions to prevent these security breaches from happening in the future, so, hopefully, Windows Phone users won't have their credentials leaked online.
