You might find yourself worrying that a gust of wind will blow it away

If you liked LG's curved OLED lamp, you might just love this device that designer Ingo Maurer created and put on display at the Frankfurt Light+Building show.

Light emitting diodes are the favorite technology for producing all sorts of shines and glows at the moment.

They are already employed in everything from ceiling light bulbs to street lights. We won't even mention how the tech is found in half (or more) of all sold televisions and monitors in the world.

Lighting designer Ingo Maurer took advantage of the Frankfurt show to show off his idea for a lamp that looks like it could be gone with the wind at any moment.

The sheet of LED lights looks like etamine, or even a sheet of paper studded with little stars, from certain angles. It's also translucent, unlike LG's curved OLED design we’ve mentioned above.

The name of the sheet-like LED lamp is Dew Drops. Unfortunately, no one seems to have any idea when it will be put up for sale.

Until they do show up, I'll be here wondering how worried I should be about dust and its tendency to gather in layers over everything in sight. The Dew Drops might turn out particularly susceptible to it, with all those tiny gaps.
