Unfortunately not officially released

The G10IL netbook is ECS' version of an Eee PC or, better yet, of a MSI Wind. And, as with the Eee PC and the Wind, this product is also going to be powered by an Intel Atom processor. The nebook resembles more the MSI Wind because it only comes in a 10.2-inch display version. Unfortunately, the netbook has not yet been officially announced, like the above mentioned products of the competition, and details on it are only available thanks to a post on the Laptopmag blogspot.

From what we can see in the pictures, the G10IL looks more like a notebook than any of its competitors, with a keyboard that features decently spaced from one another keys and an apparently large mouse touchpad. One the more impressive features, the netbook comes with a 10.2-inch display that looks pretty cool with a Windows XP desktop - as seen in the photo. Although there are no official notes on the netbook's technical specifications, it seems that the integrated hardware components are capable of running a Windows XP operating system. Even more, it is said that the G10IL was capable of booting into Windows in less than a minute.

Apparently, ECS's shoot at the netbook market is going to feature an Intel Atom processor and at least 1GB of RAM memory. Where connectivity is concerned, the G10IL features three USB 2.0 ports, an Ethernet and a modem port. There's also a VGA port, which can enable users to expand the display of the netbook to a larger screen. On top of the screen sits a 1.3-megapixel camera. On the storage side, all we know is that the G10IL is going to sport a 4-in-1 card reader.

Until ECS decides to go official with its new netbook, all we can say is that the G10IL looks quite promising, especially as a MSI Wind competitor. However, by the time the G10IL does get official specs, prices and availability, users will be faced with a rather large number of alternatives for a netbook.
