It looks like Spore's creator (and renowned video game designer) Will Wright is taking the Mac version of his God game very seriously. Apple is announcing that the famous designer is coming to the Apple Store, Regent Street, to offer some insight on the evolution simulation game known as Spore, which has spent the past eight years in development.

Will Wright: Spore

Sims fans won’t want to miss this inside look at Will Wright’s newest brainchild, Spore. Learn from the creator himself how to take your avatar from primordial soup to intergalactic supremacy.

In case you live in London, but are not sure exactly where the store is at, the address is 235 Regent Street, London, W1B 2EL. Store hours are 10:00 am to 9:00 pm, from Monday to Saturday, and 12 at noon to 6:00 pm on Sundays but, as a Spore fan, you want to be there on Wednesday, before 3:00 PM. By the way, did you get your Creature Creator? There's still time to make your own being, which you can later import into the full version of Spore. The Creator also lets you upload videos of your creature in action on YouTube. Go on, have a go at it. It's fun!

For those who aren't very familiar with Will Wright's evolution sim / God game, Spore has players molding and guiding a species across many generations, growing it from a single-celled organism into a more complex being. Eventually, the species becomes sapient, at which point the player sets the rules for that species' society. The goal is to progress the living being (intelligent at this point) towards space-exploration.

Since the much-awaited game is due out this week, you might want to know that Mac system requirements are Mac OS X 10.5.3 (Leopard) or higher, Intel Core Duo Processor (PPC is a no-no), at least 1024 MB RAM, ATI X1600 or NVIDIA 7300 GT with 128 MB of Video RAM, or Intel Integrated GMA X3100 and at least 4.7GB of hard drive space for installation, plus additional space for creations. The video cards listed below are not supported (so you can upgrade in time for the big release).

ATI Radeon series: X1600, X1900, HD 2400, HD 2600 NVIDIA GeForce series: 7300, 7600, 8600, 8800 Intel Extreme Graphics: GMA X3100

Spore is set for an official release this week, on September 7.
