Qanstar Korean electronics manufacturer, developed ten years ago, is launching its latest PMP-600. At a first glimpse, the player sports a 2-inch TFT display with 262.000 colors and a resolution of 176 x 220. It comes with a miniSD slot, and it may not actually have any built-in memory, but it reveals a nice 3MP camera that allows the user some video recording, reminding a lot of the Meizu miniOne player.

Meizu miniOne was recently dubbed the Chinese iPhone, because of its form factor and touchscreen looks. Not to mention the Meizu's future plans of taking up the telephony in the near future.

Anyway, at least in design, the new Qanstar looks quite bulky and like nothing ever created before. Regarding its capabilities, the PMP-600 supports the popular file formats available on the market such as: MP3. MP4, 3GP, AMR, JPEG and text, which means that besides listening to your favorite music, you'll be able to slideshow memories with your loved ones, as well as use the player as a book reader, although the screen size might demand some eagle eyes to do that.

The player is also capable of playing movies content, but again you'll get "sore eyes" from the screen size. The device is powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, so it's probably going to function around 10 hours while reading the music file formats.

The player is quite a portable device, measuring 87 x 54 x 15mm, just the kind of size that could fit comfortably in your hand. But it won't bother you if placed in your purse or bag, as it weighs only 79g.

There are certain rumors on the Internet that say that the Qanstar PMP's price tag is going to be somewhere around 120 bucks, which could be a kick a*s move for many Korean manufacturers and not only.

It seems the company is a Korean based one, which adopted the European technology and design and added an Asian price tag. Perfect combination!
