Meerkat's Android application has been recently released, but it's still a work in progress. However, developers seem to be determined to launch the final version as soon as possible, which is why they are now delivering frequent updates that fix any issues reported by users.

The iOS version of Meerkat is available for quite some time and had a huge success among users. Thanks to Meerkat, iOS and Android users can stream videos to their Twitter followers.

This has attracted Twitter's wrath at some point, hence the delay of the Android version of Meerkat. The beta version has been released in Google Play Store only a few days ago, and now developers have updated the application with a few fixes.

According to the official changelog, they have fixed duplicate tweets when going live, as well as some UI issues when watching a stream on KitKat.

Furthermore, developers addressed a bug with back button after ended broadcast and an avatar upload issue. Last but not least, some stability improvements have been implemented as well.

But the more important update is that for the iOS version of Meerkat. For the first time, Meerkat users will be able to push live and upcoming streams to their Facebook page.

Only iOS version benefits from Facebook integration

Also, developers confirmed they have added Phone verification and Address book integration so that users can easily connect to the people they already know.

The folks behind Meerkat also introduced a new feature called Mobbing. This means that when a user's stream starts to mob, it will become featured on the Meerkat feed.

The update also fixes some issues with streams not being published to Twitter. The new features included in this update are not yet available on Android yet, but they will probably pushed on Google Play store when the final build will be released.

You can now download Meerkat Beta for Android for free via Google Play Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 4.2 and up.

In addition, Meerkat for iOS 1.3 is now available for download at App Store. The application supports devices powered by iOS 8.0 and up.
